The first association of Hebrew workers in Eretz Israel. Founded in Rishon LeZion in 1887 with the aim of caring for the hired laborer in the first settlements during the first immigration; obtaining him work and housing, medical service and treatment in case of illness, etc. It also had to work for the settlement of the worker in the settlements. The Workers Association, whose prominent activist was Michael Halpedan—a well-known figure in the Yishuv in those years—was active in the settler revolt against Baron Rothchild.
